Summer Cleaning

Post by watch » 26 Aug 2015, 18:24

In the process of going through the code and cleaning up all the main plugins that no longer compile from source due to modifications to the include files over the years. There are some plugins that existed before I started using version control which makes it difficult to know what version is actually running on the server. I'd like to get these fixed. There shouldn't be any major changes, if anything MAJOR BUGS

First batch: (Sorry for the lack of descriptions I'm in a rush)
FM_ANTISPAM.amxx
FM_BALANCE.amxx
FM_CHATBLOCK.amxx
FM_COLOUR_API.amxx
FM_CONFIG.amxx
FM_EMPTY.amxx
FM_ENTBUG_FIX.amxx
FM_JOIN_ANNOUNCE.amxx
FM_KZCONVERT.amxx
FM_MAP_HUNTED_ARBLOCK.amxx
FM_MAP_HUNTED_KILLBLOCK.amxx
FM_MAP_HUNTED_STATUS.amxx
FM_MAPFILE_API.amxx
FM_MEDIKIT.amxx
FM_MENU.amxx
FM_MENUBUG_FIX.amxx
FM_NAILGREN_LIMIT.amxx
FM_PLAYER_GET.amxx
FM_ROTATE_FIX.amxx
FM_SEMICLIP.amxx
FM_SPECIAL_BLOCK.amxx
FM_SQL_API.amxx
FM_TAG_PROTECT.amxx
FM_UMBRELLA.amxx
FM_UPTIME.amxx
FM_VOICE_API.amxx
FM_VOICE_MENU.amxx

Let me know of any issues OR any minor niggles you'd like to see fixed. For example, I noticed when someone attempts to rockthevote before the timelimit is up you see their text but nothing else. I have changed this to display the response to everyone

Will post updates as I go through the rest

Another batch

FM_MESSAGE.amxx
- Displays hudmesage (like the good old days). These are more dynamic than they used to be as messages can be setup to be specific to a map. Some of the messages are sourced from other plugins. For example, querying the FM_MAPFILE_API plugin for a message returns:
"There are xxx maps availiable for vote! Type \"listmaps\" to see them all. Why not check out xxx xxx or xxx." with 3 random maps replacing the latter xxx's

FM_MAPVOTE_TIMELIMIT.amxx
- Added functionality to skip the timelimit if 100% of active players have attempted to rockthevote. This is useful if you are playing on the server by yourself or with a friend and want to change level shortly after mapchange. Needs bug testing.

FM_SQL_DONATORS.amxx

Do this count only active players or non? Cause afk can ruin it. Looks interesting function.

Hi Soda. It excludes idle players BUT I need to look at the idle plugin since it discards data between mapchanges meaning that there will be a 5 minute wait for someone to be marked idle when a new map loads.

* Fixed capitals in file path for k_thegame and k_thegame2_r causing map download issues

* Added FM_MESSAGE_PLAYERSTATS.amxx which queries the database and reports back to FM_MESSAGE.amxx to display player stats like this:

Code: Select all

108 unique players have connected to the server in the last 24 hours
1575 unique players have connected to the server in the last month
11895 unique players have connected to the server in the last year
36629 unique players have connected to the server since 2008
* SQL database has been moved to the new web host.

Sorry SOADxt. I need glasses!

* Added a few more dynamic messages:
- Number of queries performed since mapchange
- Pulling random facts from fm_message_facts.ini

* Fixed content not downloading correctly for planet_xen

* Tweaked https content checking so it only occurs for each map once every 90 days

* Fixed admin_ commands related to name logging

* MySQL db seems a lot slower on the current host. I may find another location for it.

* FM_SQL_PLAYERMODELS has been updated. Some code has been rewritten so let me know of any bugs.
Also changed the way the model menu works. You now get a camera that faces you and the menu stays active until you cancel out of it.

Not sure this one just happens to me or everyone else but I don't think there is a command to enable models again once they have been disabled. If there is I can't seem to find it. Maybe that's just me though. Thanks!

There isn't currently. The command assumes that you want to keep it disabled permanently because it writes to the exclude file to disable it everytime the map loads

I think I've fixed the issue with models appearing white, unless there are multiple mistakes in the code and I've only fixed one. Let me know.
Although bunny model still seems to go squiffy. After exiting the camera mode. Not quite worked that one out yet.

i dont know why, but the server keeps crashing now way more often than before. Mostly after Voting a Map after RocktheVote/Votemap.

Happens atleast twice a day now.

Hi Eiskrieg, can you tell me at what point exactly does it crash? and does it occur on the same maps regularly? I suspect you're stuck seeing the scoreboard since it looks like the server is crashing on map load.

Orion, could this be related to the updated amxx binaries? Checking the crash log I'm seeing more FATAL ERROR (shutting down): Hunk_Alloc: bad size: -926108544 since this was reported

The other day spaceatron_beta3 was crashing after a voting i put it manually and crashed too. Told Snake and same error appeared in log: Rob: 10/06/2015 - 22:13:47: FATAL ERROR (shutting down): Hunk_Alloc: bad size: -926108544
We disabled the map but i see it's a general issue :?

Its nothing new about the server crashing 2-3 times a day. In 90% its the Cache_alloc. I think Orion have already explained that somewhere. Were getting more complex maps with tons of files, after playing several big maps and precaching hundreds of models, sprites etc its just overloading. These arent dumped out during mapchange and once it reach the limit the server just crashes.

But just recently, it started crashing more often. The reason is following:

Uploading dump (in-process) [proxy '']
/tmp/dumps/crash_20151009013343_1.dmp
success = yes
response: Discarded=1

Segmentation fault
./my_hlds_run: 207: ./my_hlds_run: gdb: not found

Reporting: Trail plugin is not working correctly, when you leave the server it doesn't save your preferences and you have to write it manually every time you join in.
